Imam Wali T. Fardan

Imam Wali was born in Martinsville Virginia to Mr. and Mrs. George King. After graduating from George Washington Carver High School he joined the United States Navy. While enlisted he was introduce to Islam in the form of the Nation of Islam. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years and was honorably discharged.

After discharge, Imam Wali settled in San Diego, California. He graduated from San Diego City College with a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. In 1975 he accepted Orthodox Islam under the leadership of Imam W. D. Mohammed.

He currently owns and operates Fardan’s Refrigeration and is the Resident Imam at Masjidul Taqwa of San Diego, California. He is often called upon to speak at local universities, as well as other religious organizations about the religion of Islam. He is a member of the Muslim American Society, and continues to travel throughout the United States participating in the propagation of Islam.

Imam Wali is married to Sister Darleen Fardan and they have 5 children and several grandchildren.
